"Where the Wild Things Are" Little Free Library
Created: June 2016 Media: Exterior Latex House Paint Location: Art Center of Battle Creek Changling Lab Project The Changling Lab designed, created and installed 10 little free libraries across Calhoun County. Professional artists worked with students from Athens Public High School, Kellogg Community College, and the Burmese Student Association, along with volunteers to paint varied designs on the LFL's. These Little Free Libraries were installed in high-need areas with steward support to keep them stocked with books. Kimber painted the "Where the Wild Things Are" LFL now located at the Art Center of Battle Creek. Click to read more. |

This installation highlighted March as Reading Awareness Month, and showcased multiple forms of literacy. "Downtown Life" Greenstreet Arts murals
Created: 2007 Media: Acrylic on MDO board Size: Five (5) 8' h x 4' w panels Budget: $12,128.00 (grant from the Calhoun County Arts & Industry Council Public Art Program, Marshall Rotary Foundation (fiduciary) Location: 115 W. Green Street, Marshall, MI until at least 2017 The five reproduction murals depicting "Downtown Life" include cropped sections of Renoir's "The Boulevards", Van Gogh's "Café Terrace at Night", Monet's "Boulevard des Capuchines", Caillebotte's "Street in Paris in the Rain" and Munch's "Four Girls on a Bridge". The impressionistic use of color changed the way art was created and viewed from their time until today, and beyond. Click to read more. |
