"BC River" muralKimber works in downtown Battle Creek, and since parking is at a premium, her and her co-workers park a couple of blocks from their office.
Almost every day on her way to work she would walk by an abandoned store on McCamly Street that had two doors at the back corner of the building that had been covered in plywood. Every time she passed by she would think of how nice it would be to paint something pretty to put there. She was talking about this to an individual who agreed and asked what it would take to make it happen, and agreed to finance the project! Kimber obtained permission from the building owners and started to work on a painting that brings a little sunshine to the area during the dark days of winter. It has also become a favorite place for photo ops! |
